to use flac frontend is pretty easy. just open the program, and there will be this 'working area' box and all these buttons on the right side. just drag the downloaded .flac files into the box (drag and drop) from windows explorer or wherever they are. and then hit 'decode' .. also note where you have told the computer to put these newly made .wav files. it will then 'decode' the .flac files to .wav (cd audio files) and you can then burn those to an audio cd to rock out to at your house or in your car.

the other works too. if you have a recording you made or such and want to make .flac files, just drag the .wav files into the box and hit 'encode' and it will make .flac files.

if you still have problems, just post and i'll help. we all started somewhere. I was anti-flac for years thingking 'i've got shn, i'll just stick to it' but now i'm a die-hard believer. flac is much better, trust me.

Hi Tyler

Thank you for your help. But i still have a problem with watching a concert from this site. I did what you wrote, on how to use Flac, but now i can only hear the concert(wav-files), not see it. ;-) Can you help me??

I'm confused. This section of the archive:

http://www.archive.org/audio/etree.php

is for live concerts in audio format only. flac is an audio lossless file format.

if you want concert videos, they are much more scarce, since many bands that are ok with audio recording are NOT ok with video recording. nevertheless, there is some live concert video here:

http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=subject:%22GrooveTV%22

good luck!

Tyler, you still out there? Hey I followed all of your directions for flac to a t. However once I add my file and hit decode I get a prompt that says flac.exe not found. huh? Any other suggestions? I'm at my wits end man. Thank you so much for all of your help so far. Much appreciated.

That doesn't look like an individual file name. You decode individual tracks, which are like sci2005-07-05d1t01.flac. If it's a directory, look inside.
